Local Voices,
Global Impact
Jeddah Knowledge International School Model United Nations (JKSMUN) traces its roots back to 2011, when it began as a small club within the girls’ section of JKS. At the time, it was nothing more than a handful of high school students with a shared dream of leadership, global awareness, and making their voices heard. What started as a space for debate and discussion quickly grew into something much bigger: the first school-led MUN initiative in Jeddah.
Within a year, the club’s success and ambition propelled it beyond its original scope. In 2012, JKSMUN hosted its very first official conference, planting the seeds for what would later become a long-standing legacy. Year after year, conference after conference, the initiative steadily expanded, welcoming more students, committees, and participants from across the region. What was once a small club for high schoolers transformed into a fully inclusive conference, marking a milestone in its evolution.
Today, JKSMUN is proudly led by an executive board of 28 dedicated members, each working tirelessly to deliver an authentic, professional, and inspiring MUN experience. Over the past thirteen years, it has hosted 13 successful conferences, and this year marks the 14th iteration, making it not only one of the most established but also the oldest running MUN conference in Jeddah.
Beyond its local presence, JKSMUN has carried its identity onto the international stage. Since 2012, just a year after its founding, the club has been attending The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN), representing Jeddah and, by extension, Saudi Arabia in one of the world’s most prestigious MUN forums. This step into the global sphere reinforced JKSMUN’s mission: to create a bridge between students in Saudi Arabia and the international MUN community.
What began as a modest club of a few passionate high schoolers has grown into a recognized, respected, and long-lasting institution. With each new conference, JKSMUN builds on its legacy, inspiring generations of students to step into the role of diplomats and future changemakers.
